Quiet is Fun Too!

Resources for Parents and Caregivers of Introvert Children.
In our world geared up for extraverts to thrive, it’s all too easy to think that there is something wrong with our quieter wards.
With up to 50% of any population identifying as an introvert, it could be that a child in your care has that quieter nature. Maybe they are the only one in your family, so you worry for their future. Maybe you think they are shy and hope they will get over it. Maybe they are being picked on by the more outgoing or boisterous members of the family.
So what should you do?
Firstly, I encourage you not to worry. Your young person is not broken or in need of fixing.
What they are in need of is someone who understands that their brain is wired differently so what energises and excites extraverted children doesn’t work for them. In fact it drains them of energy and joy.

Quietly, and supportively yours,
