Turning the tide with determination..
Nugget of the Week
In the same way that I’m serious about my gratitude practice, I’ve joined Dr David Hamilton’s 21-day Kindfulness experiment and day one started with noticing examples of kindness.
If you’ve been in my world for more than a moment, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of noticing, so the whole experiment started well for me. Dr David encouraged us to notice simple examples of kindness, like when someone lets you stitch in the queue of traffic or holds the lift door for you.
Here’s why I think there is a nugget here for we introverts. Too many introvert memes celebrate an introvert’s joy at the lift doors closing before the other person can get in. Really? The kind soul in me always looks to see if anyone is clearly trying to catch my attention and rushing towards the lift and I hold the doors for them.
So, I’m not here to judge but please notice when you could choose to be kinder and choose that.
This Sh** Really Happened!
One of the people I admire most in the world listened intently as I told him about the book I’m currently writing. After a beautiful introverted pause he said …
… “That’s a fantastic idea”.
Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t asking for or looking for validation, but when an eminent strategist, author and successful business person says that, I have to admit to feeling more than a tingle of excitement.
Later he sent me a text reiterating his thoughts and wrote this “I love the idea of your book. I think you’re onto a winner!”
November has been marked for book writing and that time is sacrosanct in my calendar.
Coming up, Buttercup!
